Charles T. Cravins has served as Chief Administrative Officer of the
St. Landry Parish District Attorney’s Office since D.A. Earl Taylor took
office in January 1997. Prior to his appointment at C.A.O., Mr. Cravins served as regional director for Louisiana’s Fourth Congressional District.
Mr. Cravins’ extensive administrative experience and his background in public service makes him well equipped to handle the day-to-day operations of the D.A.’s office. He is co-host with his brother, Donald Cravins, of a radio program on KNEK (104.7 FM, Sunday mornings
10am-noon) and is active with the Annual Zydeco Extravaganza held in Opelousas, Louisiana.
Charles Cravins was born on October 15, 1955 in Mallet, Louisiana. A graduate of Lawtell High School, Mr. Cravins earned an Associate’s Degree from Louisiana State University at Eunice, has completed course work at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and has a Bachelor of Science Degree from Troy State University-Montgomery, in Social Sciences. Charles received his Juris Doctorate from the Southern University Law Center and was officially sworn-in to practice law in the State of Louisiana in December 2007.
He is a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church and is married to the former Mona Gobert. They are the proud parents of Monique, Charlotte, Alexandria and Alexander Cravins.
