Jury selection for murder trials today

 

          OPELOUSAS, LA – District Attorney Earl Taylor today announced jury selection in four murder trials.

 

          Henry Clay Meridith, Jr., 28, 407 Buhot St., Washington, La, is charged with second-degree murder of Shirley Recard.  Assistant District Attorney Robert Bordelon, Jr., is representing the state in this case.  Jury selection is being held in State District Judge Alonzo Harris’ court.

 

          Johnathan Richard, 23, 447 W. Park Ave., Opelousas, La, is charged with first-degree murder of Marie Romar.  Assistant District Attorney Barry Fontenot is representing the state in this case.  Jury selection is being held in State District Judge Alonzo Harris’ court.

 

          Gerald Neal Babineaux, 35, Rt. 1, Box 202-F., Opelousas, La, is charged first-degree murder in the death of Cyprien Babineaux.  Assistant District Attorney Gary Tromblay is representing the state in this case.  Jury selection is being held in State District Judge Frank McGee’s court.

          John Ricky Alleman, 36, 517 Henry St., Church Point, La, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Cyprien Babineaux.  Assistant District Attorney Gary Tromblay is representing the state in this case.  Jury selection is being held in state District Judge Frank McGee’s court.
