With a criminal justice system that often seems concerned only with the rights of the accused, it is important to know that victims of crime have specific rights as well. The Office of the District Attorney for the 27th Judicial District, in an effort to protect the rights of victims, has established a Victims' Assistance Program.

The mission of the Victims' Assistance Program is to provide compassionate and effective services in an effort to address the needs of crime victims. We will ensure that all victims of crime will be given the knowledge and assistance they need to actively participate in the criminal court process.

Our Victims' Assistance Program is headed by Susie Peck. If you have any questions or need any assistance contact Peck or victims' advocate assistant Faye Blanchard, at (337) 948-3041.
